Outdoor teak by Gloster, the wood is exceptionally hard wearing, highly resistant to rotting and almost impervious to the effects of sun, rain, frost or snow.
The base of the storage chest is made of durable, synthetic mesh, rather than teak. This is to allow ventilation in the storage box and limit the effect of mildew and damp.
Very little maintenance is required, only the occasional cleaning. If left to age naturally outside by being exposed to light, air and rain, then the surface of the teak will gradually change to a soft, silver-grey as the pigments in the surface layer of the wood slowly start to fade away.
