Radicchio leaves are great used in mixed salads especially in the winter when green lettuces have past their best.
The leaves can also be roasted with olive oil and garlic with some blue cheese crumbled and melted over the top.
You can blanch or pan fry if you don't like the bitter flavour.
Sow May-August.
Harvest till end February.
