I'm in between sizes - what should I do?
It is tricky with footwear that has no means to adjust the fit (no laces etc). You want the boots to be snug to start with sufficient space in the toe so your foot isn’t moving into the end causing issues when you walk.
If you usually wear a half-size and are trying to decide between sizing up or down, our suggestion is to measure the length of your foot, as we recommend the inner sole of the boot to be around the same length as your foot. It also depends on your typical use of the boots especially if you are planning walking long distances in them.
In the event that to have the length for comfortability, but that you now find excessive space is causing your heel to move, the best recommendation is to alter the removable innersole to a thicker option.
At this stage, Merry People don’t offer innersole variations for fit, but this is an adaption their product team is working on.
-
Will my boots stretch?
Both natural rubber and neoprene have flexibility and elasticity, so Merry People boots will soften as you wear them. The boots are initially a little snug, but they will stretch over time. The neoprene lining also has similar properties to memory foam so will mould to your feet over time.
Please note though that while there is give width-wise over time, they will not get any longer. If your toe is touching the end or they feel a bit too snug, consider sizing up.
-
Are Merry People Boots waterproof?
Absolutely! Merry People boots are 100% waterproof. The neoprene lining ensures the boots are waterproof at the sides too.
-

Check out the size charts on each product page to help assist you with this.
-
Are Merry People boots warm?
Merry People boots are fully lined with flexible neoprene for extra comfort. The neoprene also allows our boots to be rated for below-freezing temperatures. As with most 100% waterproof boots, there is limited breathability. We recommend a natural fibre sock to complement the fit and feel.
