Made from solid FSC timber this butterfly feeder and habitat not only gives butterflies, moths and even Bumble Bees somewhere to hibernate in the winter, it also features a feeding tray which can be used in the summer months.
The feeding tray is designed to emulate garden nectar sources and is attractive to butterflies, hoverflies, bees and other nectar feeding insects. The small nectar pots on the side of the feeding tray can be filled with a sugar and water solution and the large pot in the centre can be used for soft fruit such as bananas or plums for the butterflies to feed on.
The main house will be used for roosting and hibernating by butterflies such as the small tortoiseshell or Peacock butterfly.
The Butterfly Habitat makes a lovely gift for all ages young and old alike but is a lovely way for children to watch and learn more about nature.
For more information about butterflies, see the Butterfly Conservation website which will open in a new window.
